CLOS mobile app for iOS and Android
What the CLOS mobile app does on iOS and Android: remote capture, camera control, and cloud delivery from any phone.
On a CLOS shoot, the mobile app has one job: turn the subject’s phone into the camera. The person being photographed installs the app and holds the phone. The photographer or director stays in a browser and drives that phone’s real camera from wherever they are. The app is the capture device, not the control panel, and understanding that split is the key to how remote shoots work on CLOS. Here is what the app does on each platform and where to get it.
The app is the camera, the browser is the operator
It helps to separate the two halves of a CLOS session. The operator directs from a browser: they create the room, pair the device, frame the shot, and fire the shutter. The subject runs the mobile app on their phone, and that app exposes the phone’s real camera sensor to the operator over the network. Nothing about the photograph is a screenshot of a video feed; the app hands over the actual sensor so captures come out at full resolution.
This is why the subject needs no photography skill. They install the app, join the session, and hold the phone steady. Every creative decision, focus, exposure, the shutter itself, happens on the operator’s side. The remote camera control feature covers exactly which settings the operator can reach; the app’s role is simply to make the phone’s camera available for them to reach it.
On iPhone and iPad (iOS)
On iOS, the app runs on iPhone and turns it into the capture device for the session. The operator can trigger the shutter and adjust focus and exposure on every plan, and on Pro they gain ISO, shutter speed, white balance, and switching between the telephoto and ultra-wide lenses. For retouch-grade work, the iOS app captures RAW as DNG and Apple ProRaw on Pro, which gives a retoucher the full sensor data rather than a baked JPG.

On Android
On Android, the app plays the same capture-device role: the phone becomes the camera the operator directs remotely. Shutter, focus, and exposure are available across plans, with the manual controls and lens switching on Pro, and full-resolution files stream to the cloud as they are shot. The workflow the subject follows, install, join, hold steady, is identical to iOS, so a crew can run a mixed session where one subject is on iPhone and another on Android without changing how they operate.

AI CAM: when there is no second person
Not every shoot has an operator on the line. AI CAM is the app’s solo mode: it gives the subject real-time framing guidance so they can position themselves, hit the frame, and capture on their own, with nobody else in the session. It is built for solo content, self-taped casting, and personal shoots where there is simply no second person to run the camera.
One clarification matters here, because the name invites confusion. AI CAM does not generate an image. It assists with framing only, while the phone’s real sensor captures an authentic, full-resolution photo of a real person. The output behaves like any other CLOS capture: it lands in the cloud in real time and can be downloaded on its own or as part of a ZIP. It is the same real photography as a crewed session, minus the crew.
Files land in the cloud either way
Regardless of platform or mode, what the app captures does not stay stuck on the phone. Every still and clip uploads to CLOS Cloud through real-time cloud delivery, so the operator, the client, and anyone else in the room sees the real file as it is taken. That is what makes the app a production tool rather than a camera roll: the phone captures, the network delivers, and the shoot is reviewable and downloadable while it is still happening.
